El Universal: Francisco Javier Arias Cardenas, the Venezuelan Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, said on Monday that the blame for the current situation between his country and Colombia must lie with the "Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, who released a rhino, which is the United States, in a glass shop."

Arias told Colombian Caracol Radio station that "it is important that we know that war (calls) have been promoted by Colombia, not by Venezuela," Efe reported.

The Venezuelan Vice-Minister referred, among other topics, to the "control operations" held by the US in the region and "its defense of (national) interests against alleged enemies" of the United States.

The US focus is in "control, domination and preservation of the empire," Arias added.
