Health Ministry confirms first case of swine influenza AH1N1 in Venezuela
El Universal: The first case of influenza AH1N1 was confirmed in Venezuela and the patient is being treated at the National Hygiene Institute, on Thursday announced Health Minister Jesus Mantilla.
The patient is a Venezuelan citizen who traveled to Panama in the last few days. Mantilla urged people to remain calm and follow the prevention guidelines to be announced by the Health Ministry, reported state-run news agency ABN.
"The young man was isolated and the relevant treatment is being administered to him," added Minister Mantilla.
In its web site, www.mpps.gob.ve, the Health Ministry has published a complete guide with detailed information about the virus, in addition to prevention measures and recommendations on what to do if the symptoms come.
