Legislation approved to modify Venezuela's Flag, Crest & National Anthem Law
VHeadline.com correspondent Dawn Gable writes: Legislation has been easily approved by Venezuela's National Assembly to modify the nation's Flag, Crest & National Anthem Law to add an eighth star in the middle blue field and to change the orientation of the horse on the nation's crest.
The added star is in recognition of the historic, economic and political role of the Guayana region in the birth of the Venezuelan nation and completes a thwarted decree issued by the Liberator Simon Bolivar in November 20, 1817 to add the star.

The horse on the nation's crest is currently heading to the right with head turned and looking backward ... it will now be portrayed as galloping to the left, head straight and looking forward.
The legislation was the first law to be approved on first discussion in the first session of the new pro-Chavez majority National Assembly since the December 4, 2005 elections.
