A criminal is a criminal; a thief is a thief, a murderer a killer, a rapist rapes!

VHeadline.com commentarist Oscar Heck writes:  Some people say that Chavez is paranoid.  Some people say that Chavez has no class ... or no sense of diplomacy ... or no sense of knowing how to address the issue of "self-image" as it pertains not only to himself, but also to the image of Venezuela and Venezuelans.  That is, Chavez is a crude talker.

I say, so what?

What's the problem? Why should anyone, Chavez include, be "diplomatic" or "politically correct" when referring to people and/or governments which are "politically correct" in speech yet humanity-wise "incorrect" in their actions ... for example the US government and its imitators.

What end does its serve to state something to this effect?

"We, the government of Venezuela are not aligned with the foreign policies of the US government and its organizations and affiliated or associated bodies, insofar as such policies infringe upon the essence of the basis on which these policies are intended to be construed, interpreted and applied.  We, the government of Venezuela, President Chavez and executive powers included, and in representation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, desire to enjoy productive and collaborative relations with the government of the United States of America and with the President of the USA and his governing and legislative entities, such that, as our relations improve, the doors to diplomatic discussions will be availed to both parties for the mutual intention of prolonged and extended demonstrations of respect, cooperation and development. We, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and in the name of all Venezuelans seek, with greatest resolve, to abide by international accords and seek the most appropriate path to resolution, and this, in the name of democracy, freedom and peace."

Why not say it as it is?

"We do not agree with the USA's invasion of Iraq and the US government's habitual coercive, threatening, terrorist and deceptive actions and words.  We do not believe in or agree with the USA's capitalistic and abusive social principles and the way these principles are applied throughout the world, at the expense of the welfare of fellow human beings.  We have no intention of continuing diplomatic relations with a government that breaks so many of the basic rules of humanity until the time when that government (the USA) demonstrates its resolve to halt all military, economic and social aggressions against foreign territories."

Simpler said:

"Bush, you are a terrorist and criminal.  The US government is the most tyrannical and murderous in history. The US model, particularly capitalism, is destroying the world, humanity. Leave us alone. You are a threat to the future of humanity."

Condensed:

"Yankee go home."

So, what is wrong with using straight-forward language? It saves lots of time and addresses the issue head on.  It is efficient and curt, it is honest and often significantly more precise (and clear), especially when compared to the "politically correct" or "diplomatic" versions of the same events or issues.

Imagine if you catch a person raping your child.  What would you do or say?  Would you say something to the effect of?

"Excuse me sir, what are you doing?  I recommend that you abstain from your present actions, for those actions can lead to criminal charges against you, whence from may be handed down a sentence to incarcerate you, and any accomplices, for a lengthy period of time.  I beckon of you sir, please refrain from your present actions, or I will be forced to resort to legal methods to halt your activity, which appears to be infringing upon the established rules and regulations of the state."

Meanwhile, your child is raped over and over ... as you sit and watch the world go by.

Or, would you speak up and react immediately, directly and efficiently in order to save your child from rape?

The US government and its copycats are raping the world, raping humanity, destroying the environment, murdering and maiming thousands of innocent people ... and Chavez and Rangel (Venezuela's Vice President) call the shots as it is ... right in your face.

Simple as that.

Several months ago the Venezuelan opposition and the US government were accusing Chavez of being paranoid about potential assassination attempts against him. Chavez blamed and continues to blame the US government for being behind these attempts ... and rightly so.  The US government has been financing the violent Venezuelan opposition for years.  The US government has siphoned over $3 billion to Colombia for military operations, many of which are aimed at regions along the Venezuelan borders. Colombia is considered the USA's "closest ally" in the region. (As you read further you will see why I mention Colombia.)

(Before we continue, I would like to give readers an idea of how much $3 billion is. If you spent $1,000 per day, every day, it would take about 8200 years for you to spend $3 billion! And that is after-tax dollars and without considering accrued compounded interest!)

According to a recent VHeadline.com report:

"Chinese Xinhua news agency reports that Venezuela has deported 16 Colombians who were charged with belonging to a paramilitary force planning to assassinate President Hugo Chavez ... the 16 deportees, arrested in Caracas in May 24, were among a group of 33 Colombians who decided to become witnesses in return for immunity from prosecution ... The 16 Colombians were allowed to leave Venezuela because of their cooperation with authorities ... the other 17 members of the 33 who entered the special witnesses program are still being held under special circumstances."

The above quote relates to the threats of assassination against Chavez ... and as we can see ... the threats against the life of Chavez are becoming more real every day.

If Chavez stops his anti-US-government rhetoric, the world will not know how real the possibility is that the US government is involved in attempts to "get rid of" Chavez ... at any cost and by any means.

If the US government has been able to assassinate, torture, maim and rape thousands of innocent Iraqis, it can certainly, and without any doubt in my mind, assassinate Chavez and a few other "bothersome" people who are not submissive to US foreign policy.

The threat to Chavez is real.

The threat to Venezuela is real.

The threat to Venezuelans is real...

... and Chavez must continue to do everything he can to expose these criminals (the US government and its accomplices) ... in a direct, honest and efficient fashion ... not hiding behind the silk veil of "diplomacy" or "political correctness."

A criminal is a criminal.

A thief is a thief.

A murderer is a killer.

A rapist is a rapist.

Chavez is not paranoid, he is being realistic, honest and accurate ... and he must reiterate the truth over and over and over again ... because we humans have extremely short memories, extremely short ... and he knows it.

Diplomacy and "political correctness" kills people ... it kills children and fetuses, it contaminates rivers and fauna, it poisons the air.  It is directly contributing to the impending annihilation of the world as we know.  Diplomacy and "political correctness" are directly responsible for increasing human misery.

I will give some very simple examples:

  1. Political correctness could not stop the criminal invasion of Iraq by the USA ... where thousands of innocent Iraqis were either killed or maimed, losing limbs and eyes, burned with a napalm equivalent, raped or tortured, beat and abused ... where radioactive Depleted Uranium bombs were dropped, poisoning Iraq and Iraqis for generations to come.

  2. Political correctness did not stop the slaughter of the Tutsi or Hutus in Africa ... where hundreds of thousands were slaughtered, dismembered, raped and abused.

  3. Political correctness has not slowed the exponential growth of AIDS in Africa ... where millions are affected on a daily basis ... where "civilized" patent laws do not allow for the manufacture and distribution of affordable medicine.

  4. Political correctness did not stop the coup against democratically-elected President Aristides in Haiti ... where today Haitians are reportedly experiencing an increase in assassinations, abuses and hunger at the hands of their new, supposedly "civilized" US-Canada-France-backed leaders.

  5. Political correctness has done nothing to enhance the lives of fellow human beings in the last century.  On the contrary, it has promoted the continuous taking-away of human dignity ... which leads to poverty, disease, desperation, indifference and crime.

  6. Political correctness has done nothing to thwart the use of "cheap labor" by "civilized" "Christian" countries. The use of "cheap labor" has increased dramatically worldwide ... and will continue to do so.

  7. Political correctness has done nothing whatsoever to improve the lives of Mexicans or Central Americans.  Despite the coercively pushed US "free trade" in the region, Mexicans and Central Americans are experiencing increased poverty and are being further exploited by multinationals and uncaring profit-only-seeking corporations, many of which are based in the US or Canada.  Poorer Mexicans and Central Americans continue to pour in through US borders in search of a better life.

  8. Political correctness allowed former Venezuelan governments to practically destroy Venezuela's economy and society ... allowing for mass social abuses which forced almost 80% of the Venezuelan population to live in shantytowns or shantytown-like conditions.  Unknown to most, Venezuela was (and still is to some degree), an apartheid-like society ... and so are most Latin American and Caribbean countries, where political correctness has created similar social conditions ... where close to 80% of the population has little or no access to dignified wages, education and health care.

  9. Political correctness allowed the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to burn alive.

  10. Political correctness is allowing the criminal without-conscience spraying of chemicals along the borders of Colombia and Venezuela (the US-led "war on drugs") ... where unknown chemicals are being used to  supposedly eradicate coca and opium plantations ... poisoning the air, the the water supplies and the people of the region. (I am really pissed off about this.  I spend much time along the Colombia/Venezuela borders and it makes me sick all over to think that some of the water coming down from the mountains might be contaminated with some unknown substance ... with unknown effects on innocent people, children and older folk.  It isn't as if the US and the Colombian governments care ... they keep on doing it ... poisoning innocent people, a few at a time. Soon, children will be born deformed, as in Iraq and Afghanistan, where radioactive --nuclear weapons-- were used by the US military. Watch the 2-minuter movie trailer near the bottom of the webpage ... and then send the link to as many people as you can.  Help save humanity!)

  11. Political correctness has done absolutely nothing to stop the ravaging and the poisoning of the earth ... the cutting of trees, the dumping of sewage and chemicals into rivers, streams and seas, the increase in car exhaust emissions, etc. On the contrary, all the things which have negative impacts on our planet are on an ever-increasing rise.

Chavez has the obligation to future Venezuelan generations to say it as it is ... and to not do like former Venezuelans leaders who hid behind "nice" or "inoffensive" words ... as they prostrated themselves before the USA ... as they watched Venezuela go to the dogs from their seaside balconies in Miami.

Nice talk no longer works.

We can clearly see the results of nice talk all around us. Destruction, death, war, the greenhouse effect, depleted uranium poisoning, massive increases in cancer, diabetes and obesity, the extinction of animal species, mass deforestation, massive increases in air pollution, mass poverty ...  and increased wealth and access for a minority, mostly whiter-skinned.

The nice talk of the past has led humanity to a very sad, embarrassing and irreversible state of affairs.

There are many solutions to reduce or reverse the condition we are in ... but it will never happen as long as nice talk prevails.  Unfortunately, for most countries in the world, nice talk remains the main instrument of change ... very slow and inefficient.

For the sake of the welfare of all Venezuelans, Chavez must continue to speak openly, honestly, crudely, directly and forcefully against the main culprits ... the US government and its collaborators.

For the sake of the world and for the sake of humanity, Chavez must continue to speak up, and strongly ... and give this example to the youth.

Remember, the rapists are being caught red-handed!

Our editorial statement reads:
VHeadline.com Venezuela is a wholly independent e-publication promoting democracy in its fullest expression and the inalienable right of all Venezuelans to self-determination and the pursuit of sovereign independence without interference. Our stance is decidedly pro-governance (defined as being contrary to anarchy) and pro-government to the extent that we support all and any government policies aimed at consolidating and improving the living conditions and future prosperity of ALL Venezuelans, regardless of race, color or creed. We also seek to shed an international spotlight on nefarious practices and corruption which, for decades, has strangled this South American nation's development and progress. In every respect VHeadline Venezuela's declared editorial bias is most definitely pro-Constitutional, pro-Democracy and pro-VENEZUELA.
