DISIP plane carrying Simonovis back to Caracas is forced to land in Barquisimeto; ground crews working to fix apparent engine failure
Union Radio news network is reporting that the plane which was transporting the former
Metropolitan Caracas security chief Ivan Simonovis to Caracas was forced to make an emergency landing in Barquisimeto (central-west Lara State) because of engine failures.
The plane, carrying State Political & Security (DISIP) agents and National Crime Squad (CICPC) detectives had left Maracaibo's La Chinita airport in western Zulia State this morning to take their prisoner to DISIP HQ in Caracas for interrogation into his role in Puente Llaguno shootings on April 11, 2002, as USA puppet Dictator for a Day Pedro Carmona Estanga seized control in a brief coup d'etat against President Hugo Chavez Frias.

Simonovis was grounded under strict security measures with a special BAE (SWAT) commando in attendance at Barquisimeto while urgent repair work is completed on the aircraft or a replacement drafted in.
It is revealed that "certain concerns" had been expressed at La Chinita which had forced the aircraft to abandon take-off on two separate occasions but it had finally lifted-off en route to Caracas. The plane is currently on the runway in Barquisimeto with Simonovis expecetd to arrive at Caracas (La Carlota) airport later this evening for immediate transfer to DISIP HQ.
